New Build House, Canford Cliffs, Poole.

Project Type: New build

RIBA Project Stages: 0-3

Budget: Confidential

Working with our client, our brief was to provide a bespoke prestigious new dwelling within the curtilage of their existing site, severing the plot to form a new modern home.  The design responds to substantial constraints imposed from tree protection and a limited developable area.

Set amongst a wooded landscape, this residence has been designed to share views of the tree canopies from every corner of the site.

The simple palette of darker tones and textures, nestles the house amongst the shaded backdrop and invites views through the house. A spiral staircase anchors the angled and cantilevered floors to twist away from protected tree roots and canopies.

The design provides open plan living space on the ground floor and four bedrooms over two floors. The first floor includes three bedrooms with two en-suites and a family bathroom, the second floor includes a master bedroom, en-suite and roof terrace.

A detached double garage is located at the entrance to the site, complete with extensive workshop facilities.
