this project in blake hill avenue, lilliput, poole focuses on transforming an existing family house into a modern, adaptable home designed to support both present and future family living. by working closely with our client, we identified the limits of the original layout, which constrained space, circulation, and functionality. through thoughtful design and collaborative planning, the house has been reshaped into a contemporary, spacious residence that better aligns with the family’s lifestyle. this approach follows the principles outlined on our about page, where each home is carefully tailored to those who live in it.

design development

the existing footprint lacked the spatial flexibility required for a busy family. our response was to introduce a two storey side extension that significantly increased both the ground and first floor accommodation. at first floor level, we created a generous family bathroom and a guest ensuite, while reconfiguring the remaining rooms to form four well-proportioned bedrooms.

to enhance privacy and long term usability, a second floor was added as a dedicated master suite. this secluded retreat enjoys natural light from large rooflights and expansive windows that frame long views toward the greenery of parkstone golf course.

technical collaboration

delivered through riba stages 0 to 4, the project involved close coordination with thorpe engineering as structural engineer, sdh builders as contractor, and mc plan and site services for building control. our technical and design process aligns with the methodology outlined on ourservices page, ensuring accuracy, buildability, and clear communication across the design and consultant team.
