over links drive offered an exceptional opportunity to design a traditional replacement home with views overlooking parkstone golf club and extending towards old harry rocks. the brief called for an elegant, timeless home that maximised daylight, space, and the elevated coastal setting. as with all our work, the design reflects our client focused approach described on our about page, ensuring the final outcome truly represents our clients’ lifestyle and aspirations.
design development
the existing property was replaced with a more generous and light filled family home arranged over three floors. the layout was designed to optimise views from all principal rooms, bringing the surrounding treetops, golf course, and distant sea views into the heart of the home.
our clients requested a traditional architectural language that balanced elegance with high functionality. four ensuite bedrooms were arranged across the first floor, including a flexible room conceived as a fully equipped spin studio overlooking the tree canopy. on the top floor, a spacious master suite was created with a feature bathroom, private dressing rooms, and large areas of glazing opening to an elevated balcony that frames views towards poole harbour.
landscape and technical delivery
extensive landscaping was introduced to both the front and rear gardens. this allowed the level changes across the site to be used positively, creating outdoor spaces that enhance gardening activities and offer a beautiful setting for social gatherings.
the project was delivered through riba stages 0 to 5, with thorpe engineering as structural engineer, elwood developments as contractor, mc plan and site services for building control, and thermal acoustics as energy assessor. further detail on our technical and architectural processes can be found on our services page.
